Fuman Art is now working with Cutlog (www.cutlog.org), the Parisian, cutting-edge contemporary art fair dedicated to international emerging or established galleries supporting emerging artists. With the support of the asset and wealth management bank Pictet & Cie, Arte, Mercedes-Benz and others, it has been offering a platform to exciting artists, as well a bridge between galleries and established collectors.

Together, we will bring the Cutlog expertise and experience to South East Asia.

Cutlog will hold its fourth edition in Paris from the 18th to the 21st of October 2012 at the same time as the FIAC.

War Sweet War at the Comédie de Caen

The Comédie de Caen sent us an invitation to assist to the world first presentation of “War Sweet War”,a play conceived by Stéphane Blanquet, Jean Lambert-wild, Juha Marsalo and Jean-Luc Therminarias. Striking ! More a performance than a play, our friend Solenn Denis wrote a compelling article about it here (In French). The scenography is conceived by Jean Lambert Wild and Stéphane Blanquet and exceeds expectations.

The following party was great too, champagne, French food and excellent music (even Trust). We were on the dance floor with Blanquet until very late !

Invited at Fernando Arrabal ‘s place

Fernando Arrabal had the kindness to invite us to spend an afternoon with him and his friends a few days ago. As always, It was an incredible moment and a lot of fun with so many amazing stories about his adventures with Topor, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, André Breton…

He also talked about this incredible book (around 150 cm high and 50 kg) he did with Ante Glibota. It is limited to 5 (?) copies and contains works by the famous Chinese artists : 王广义 (Wang Guangyi), 王庆松 (Wang Qingsong), 杨少斌 (Yang Shaobin), 岳敏君 (Yue Mingjun) and 张晓刚 (Zhang Xiaogang). It is now being presented in Shanghai, China.

Iggy Rodriguez – Radix – 2011

New works by Iggy Rodriguez will be presented in a group show in the Philippines. The show is untitled ALLMIGHTY and features the work of Adi Baens Santos, Buen Calubayan, Charlie Co, Mideo M. Cruz, Antipas Delotavo, Emmanuel Garibay & Iggy Rodriguez.

From January 9th to 29th, 2012 at Now Gallery, Ecoplaza Building, 2305 Pasong Tamo Ext., Makati City Philippines.

A comment on this painting by Lian Ladia: “Iggy Rodriguez’s painting, “Radix”, poses the question to society “Who is almighty?”, and provides symptoms to a widespread problem through symbolic images of developmental oppression and our current financial crisis. At the base of the painting is a healthy oblivious piggy bank controlled by a force that seems to know where the money in the bucket will be transmitted. The complex play of governmental practice in our skewered economy is represented portraying the fact that there is money in the bucket, as a natural recourse of economy, but somehow almost “superhuman” forces seem to control the nature of things, coercively to its descent.”
